George F. Roan

George Franklin Roan, 77, of Edwardsville, Ill., passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016, at his home. He was born May 11,1939, in Louisiana, Mo., the son of the late Earl J. and Mary L., nee Brown, Roan. He was married to Ruth, nee Jarman, Roan, on Feb. 19, 1983, who survives.

George retired as a machinist from Printpack in St. Louis, Mo. He was a veteran in the US Army. He loved playing golf. George was a Shriner and a member of Masonic Lodge #809 in Mulberry Grove, Ill.

George is also survived by his children, Mike (Julie) Coad of Troy, Ill., David Coad of Wood River, Ill., Pamela Coad of Mt. Olive, Ill., Kimberly (Larry) Beyer of Pontoon Beach, Ill., Paul (Jennifer) Roan of Pontoon Beach, Ill.; brother, David (Valrie) Roan of Barnhart, Mo. He was preceded by a brother Jackson Roan,; sister Roberta Hanson.

Visitation: Friends may call on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Dr., Glen Carbon, Ill. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:00 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Chaplain Thomas Nadelin officiating. Interment with military honors will follow immediately at the Sunset Hill Memorial Estates.
