George Wright , 95, of Collinsville, IL passed away peacefully at his home on August 25, 2023. George was born on November 11, 1927, on the Wright family farm in Erin, TN to parents G.H. and Bertha (Hankins) Wright.

Growing up on the farm George was no stranger to hard work, a work ethic he carried throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. George never met a stranger and loved striking up conversations with new people wherever he went. George was always the first person to lend a helping hand, no matter who needed it, and had the biggest heart.

George was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Rainwater) Wright, parents G.H. and Bertha Wright, and siblings; Dot, J.L., Michel, Donie, W.S., Wanda, Mary, Martha, Sue, Laverne, and Carol.

Left to carry on George's memory are his children, Timothy (Kelli Maue) Wright of Collinsville, IL, and Cheryl Wright of Collinsville, IL. Granddaughter Emily Wright, great-granddaughter LoRyah Wright. Along with siblings Frank, Ramon, Pat, Roy, Earl and many nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Mr. Wright will be held at Sunset Hill Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Wilson officiating. George will be laid to rest next to the love of his life, Betty at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
