Gerald L. Grider, 86, of Maryville, IL., passed away in the early hours of September 4, 2022 with his daughter by his side. He was born June 6, 1936, the only child to parents Loren and Clara (Saksa) Grider in Granite City, IL. Gerald was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather, who cherished the time he spent with his family.  He served his country during his time enlisted in the Army.  He made his living working with McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, MO, but also relocated to other cities a few times in his career. He retired in 1992.

When he was not working, Gerald enjoyed many hobbies, as well as being outdoors. He was interested in photography, painting, woodworking, gardening, fishing, and hunting, just to name a few, and was always keeping busy.

Preceding him in death are both parents, his wife Carmen (Santagato) Grider, his son-in-law Wesley Stanfill and 3 infant children. Surviving him are his children, Julia Stanfill of Maryville, IL. and Dominic (Shieva) Grider of Bahrain, as well as grandchildren Damian and Reagan Stanfill;  and Dominic "Sam", Gabriel, and Sophia Grider.

Cremation rites have been afforded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Granite City, IL.
