Jerry P. Urbeck, 60, of Collinsville, Ill., born Aug. 23, 1952, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Jerry retired from U.S. Steel after 40 years of service. Some of Jerry's many great loves in his life were fishing, playing Texas Hold-em, and spending time with Carol on their property.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Dorothy, nee Hammond, Urbeck Sr.

Surviving are his wife, Carol, nee Vlcek, Urbeck, whom he married Dec. 17, 1976; a daughter, Jaime (Brian) Klein of Maryville, Ill.; two brothers, Stanley Urbeck Jr. of Hannibal, Mo., and Danny Urbeck of Carlyle, Ill.; two sisters, Barbara Jolley of Denver, Colo., and Sandy Jones of Denver, Colo.; two granddaughters, Hailley and Lillyana Klein; three nephews, Stanley, Sam and Mike; and three nieces, Angela, Amanda and Amy.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Fred Kraemer officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
