Gilbert R. Small's Obituary
Gilbert Richard Small, 85, of Collinsville, Illinois, born April 29, 1929 in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015.
He served in the Navy from 1950 until 1954. He was a Veteran of Korea. He worked for the postal service from 1954 until he retired in 1985 with 31 years of service. He then moved to Bradenton Florida. He was a member of the Sahib Temple Shriners and the Manatee Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris, nee Curts, Small; and his parents, William Walton and Carmen, nee Steele, Small.
Surviving are son, Richard Small and his wife Carol of Caseyville; and three grand daughters, Sherrill Cox of Baytown TX, and Nanette and Beth Small of Caseyville, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Beth''s College fund with checks payable to her.
Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville Illinois.
