Graig G. Straub, 52, of Edwardsville passed away at 11:56 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born Sunday, March 22, 1959 in Alton, Ill., the son of Edwin Gene and Dorothy (Vestel) Straub, of Edwardsville. He married Kris (Stahlhut) Straub on May 20, 2011.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Dorothy Straub; three daughters, Amy (Andy) Sutherland, of Glen Carbon, Ill., Alyssa Bussmann of Edwardsville, and Heather (Greg) Kypta, of Washington, Ill.; two sons, Zack Bussmann and Adam Bussmann (fiancee Alison Riels), both of Edwardsville; three grandchildren, Hannah Kypta, of Washington, and Drew and Ryan Southland of Glen Carbon; and one sister, Patricia O'Brien of California.
He was preceded in death by his father.
There will be a gathering from 5 to 7 p.m. on July 12 at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, State Route 157 in Glen Carbon. A memorial service will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Harris officiating. The family requests that everyone wear Cardinal red or some kind of Cardinal attire.
Interment will be provided by Cremation Services of Southern Illinois in Collinsville.
