Harry Leroy Modglin 68 of Fairview Heights, Illinois passed away on Sunday March 26, 2017. He was born in E. St. Louis, Illinois on March 21, 1949 the son of the late Harry A. and Shirley nee Johnson Modglin. He was also preceded by his sister Nancy Modglin and brother Robert Modglin and great grandson Daniel Brown.

Harry was a Teamster and worked for Stahly Cartage. He served his country in the US Army during the Viet Nam War where he was a Field Wireman. He was a member of the former VFW in Washington Park, Illinois. He truly enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Maeystown Sportsman Club. His true joy was organizing an Easter Egg Hunt each year for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Antonette nee Giovando Modglin whom he married May 31, 1969 in Caseyville, Illinois. He is also is survivded by his children Robert J. (Angelia) Modglin of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Sarah M. (Adam) Dahlgren of Collinsville, Illinois. He is survived by a sister Sherry (Don) Allen. Also 4 grandchildren Zachary (Rachael Reinheimer) Self, Katie Self, Emily Modglin and Genevive Modglin and three great grandchildren Baileigh Self, Brooklyn Brown and Connor Self and three great grandchildren Baileigh Self, Brooklynn Brown and Conner Self.

Memorials may be given to either Shriners Childrens Hospital or St. Judes Hospital Condolences to the family may be expressed through this online guestbook.

Visitation: Friends may call on Friday March 31, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Herr funeral Home in Collinsville, Illinois.

Services: Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday March 31, 2017 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Jason Pierce officiating. Interment to follow immediately at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
