Harry Curtis Stephens, 77, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at his home in Piedmont, MO in the loving company of family.

Harry was born on October 10, 1947 in Granite City, IL, to parents Clete Stephens and Lavelle Stephens, nee Odum. Harry valiantly served his country, honorably serving two tours in Vietnam. After returning to the States, he began a career at Granite City Steel that would span 32 years. Harry coached numerous youth sports teams, including baseball, soccer, and basketball. He retired in 2000 and moved to Piedmont in southern Missouri, near where he happily spent summers with his family as a child. He enjoyed the peacefulness of rural retirement but was happy to host generations of family for frequent visits.

He is proceeded in death by parents, Clete and Lavelle Stephens. He leaves behind his wife, Connie Stephens and children, Becky (Brian) Miller, Tim Stephens, Christopher Stroder, and Travis Stroder. He will also be missed by six grandchildren: Courtney Stephens, Joshua (Crystal) Holliday, Kaylen (Dustin) Waterman, Kaylee Holliday (Geo Ortiz), Adaya Stroder, and Charles Miller. He was the proud great grandfather to Camden, Matthew, Carson, Zayden, Grace, Bella, Lucas, JJ, Ollie, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Elliana. Other survivors include his sisters, Sue (Joe) Gross of Utah, Paula (Carl) Holem of Missouri, and Marvin Stephens of Utah.

A public visitation will be held Monday, June 23, 2025 from 11am to 3pm at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, IL 62034. Burial will be immediately following the visitation.
