Helen O. Knight, nee Smith, 82, of Collinsville, Ill., born May 21, 1932, in Caseyville, Ill., died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Caseyville Nursing Center, Caseyville, Ill.

Helen was a life long member of State Park Assembly of God and led singing and taught Bible school for many years. She was very devout all of her life and made sure her family shared her devotion to God. In addition to being a homemaker and a devoted mother, Helen worked at Martha Manning Dress Factory in Collinsville, Ill., Famous Barr Portrait Studio in St. Clair Square Mall, Fairview Heights, Ill., and before retirement worked at Walmart in Collinsville, Ill. She enjoyed gardening, nurturing animals and meeting new people.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Nettie, nee Galloway, Smith.

Surviving are her husband, Russell L. Knight Sr.; children, Sharilyn S. Lyerla of Collinsville, Ill., Dianna L. (Ron) Bales of Caseyville, Ill., Ella E. (Kenny) Mosby of Caseyville, Ill., Russell L. (JoElaine) Knight Jr. of Collinsville, Julie (Vernon) Parmley of Staunton, Ill., Melanie D. (Rick) Jones of Maryville, Ill., and Glenn A. (Erica) Knight of Collinsville, Ill.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the funeral home with Rev. Herbert Wilson officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
