Henry F Kloess Jr.

Henry F. Kloess Jr., 91, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Aug. 4, 1925, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2016.

Henry retired as the building superintendent at Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, St. Louis, Mo. He received his Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. He valiantly served his country as an U.S. Army veteran and POW during WWII. His hobbies included gardening and looking for something he could fix.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife Arlene, nee Massey, Kloess, who passed away June 8, 2011,; parents, Henry and Marie, nee Hewitt, Kloess Sr.; sister, Dorothy DuPree.

Surviving are his son, Scott (Artemis) Kloess of Rochester Hills, Mich.; grandsons, Jason (Amber) Kloess of Ypsilanti, Mich., Adam Kloess of Novi, Mich.

Visitation: Friends may visit the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Pastor Larry Patton officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
