Henry R. McMillan, 89, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away on November 14, 2021, at Stillwater Senior
Living, Edwardsville, Illinois.
Henry was born March 14, 1932, in Berrien County, Georgia, to Albert and Mary Elizabeth (Owens)
McMillan.
After Henry's parents passed away, he went and lived in a Boy's Town in Georgia where he thrived and
was even made the very first Boy's Town Mayor.
He graduated from Arizona State University with an MBA, he also earned a degree in Engineering and
worked as an Aeronautical engineer. Henry retired after serving in the United States Air Force after 27
years.
Henry was a woodworking extraordinaire, who could make anything. He previously enjoyed motorcycle
riding, especially his Harley that he and his wife would ride together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Raymond J. McMillan, and infant twin brothers; and
sister, Lila.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Clarice J. McMillan of Edwardsville, Illinois; sons: Russell K.
McMillan and wife Linda of St. Louis, Missouri, and Kelly J. McMillan and wife Margaret of Oswego,
Illinois; daughter, Andrea Steward and husband James of St. Louis, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; brothers:
Ralph McMillan of Rome, Georgia, Bill McMillan of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Carl S. McMillan of
Woodstock, Georgia; sister; Evelyn Brodland of New Orleans; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Hill
Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, Illinois. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. with
Pastor Ron Habermehl officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
