Howard "Howie" Edward Sexton, 66, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away on February 10, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Howie was born May 18, 1955, in Belleville, Illinois, to Carl and Marcella (Crumer) Sexton.  He worked as a finisher for Woods Dry Wall & Painting for many years.

He enjoyed gardening, house painting, woodworking, watching SYFY horror movies and dining at Golden Corral Restaurant.  Howie never met a stranger and always had a smile.

Howie was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and brother, Richard Sexton.

Survivors include his wife, Laurel Sexton of Collinsville, Illinois; step-son, Joshua (Jennifer) Butler of Fenton, Missouri; brother, Verne Sexton of Collinsville, Illinois; sisters:  Carol (Howard) Thomas of Bloomington, Illinois, Jerrie (Dennis) Murphy of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Robin (Jesse) Brownlee of Collinsville, Illinois; sister-in-law, Karin Sexton of St. Louis, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on February 26, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Illinois. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
