Irene Marie Kunnemann, 91, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born Tuesday, July 24, 1923, in Collinsville, Ill., passed away at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Ill.

Irene was a longtime member of St. John United Church of Christ. She was very involved in many aspects within the church which include, Women's Guild, 50 year choir member and Sunday school music teacher for over 60 years. She was a charter member of Tip Toppers and was active in acting in local Masquers Theatre. Irene loved to sing, having sung the National Anthem numerous times at St. Louis Cardinals baseball games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Anna, nee Kleppisch, Kunnemann.

Surviving are her brother, Roy Kunnemann of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; sisters, Gladys (John) Baxter of Mesa, Ariz., and Evelyn Meyer of Swansea, Ill.; nieces, Anne Thomure of Belleville, Ill., Susan Dinsmore of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Sharon Kunnemann of Jupiter, Fla., and Jane Pulley of Swansea, Ill.; nephews, Barry Roziewski of Acworth, Ga., and Roy Kunnemann of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at St. John United Church of Christ with Rev. Tony Minear officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
