Irmgard G. Dix, 90, from Granite City, IL, born July 8, 1930 in Lengerich, Germany, passed away November 25, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Irmgard moved from Germany in 1954 and was a professional upholsterer and seamstress, making multiple dresses and outfits for family and friends.  She loved to crochet and decorate cakes for birthdays. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan for both baseball and football, and also enjoyed watching professional tennis and golf. Her love of the outdoors was enjoyed through gardening and camping. She loved keeping in touch with her family with Facetime and texting.

She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Dix; her parents Otto and Anna (Zepluch) Steinigeweg; her brothers Karl Steinigeweg and Hans Steinigeweg. She is survived by her brother Reinhold (Inge) Steinigeweg of Lengerich, Germany.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Paul (Mary) Dix of Fairview Heights, IL, Deborah Dix of Maryville, IL, Brenda Ivie, of Maryville, IL and James Brian (Kelly) Dix of Irvine CA; her grandchildren Paul Dix, Jennifer Apple, Sara Dix, Jessica Seger, Candice Ivie, Richard Dimock III, Jaxson Dix, Bodhi Dix, Rhea Dix, and 4 great-grandchildren; John Paul, James, Kristian, and Kolten.

With the Covid-19 restrictions in place, private family service will be held Thursday, December 3rd at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, IL.
