James E. Eads, 87, of Edwardsville, passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, Illinois. He was born in Madison, Illinois on Saturday, August 9, 1924, the son of the late Grant and Essie (Gregory) Eads.



James married Mary J. Griffin on August 21, 1954 in Granite City. She preceded him in death.



Mr. Eads was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Granite City Masonic Lodge.



He is survived by one son, David (Donna) Eads of Bellevue, WA; two daughters, Karen (James) Herget of Winchester, TN, and Cynthia Graham of Portage, IN; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Eads, and an infant sibling.



Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, Illinois.



Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon on Thursday, July 5, 2012 with Lee Swallows officiating.
