James Floyd Ellis, 86, of Granite City, Ill., born Thursday, December 22, 1927, in Marquand, Mo., died Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Village North Rehabilitation, St. Louis, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E., nee Moerlien, Ellis; a son, Jeff Ellis; and his parents, John W. and Anna, nee Killian, Ellis.

Surviving are three daughters, Nancy J. (Mike) Freant of St. Peters, Mo., Diana Ellis of Festus, Mo., and Patty Ellis; a step-son, Craig Pilger; three grandchildren, Christine Brhely, Ethan Pilger, and Ernest Glaneman; five great-grandchildren, Danielle Brhely, Emma Glaneman, Deane Glaneman, Nikolai Brhely, and Kinsey Glaneman. Also surviving are special friends, Kevin and Mary Freeman, and Donna Goeler.
