James Patrick Flynn, 61, of Collinsville, Ill., born Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1953, in Flushing, N.Y., passed away at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

James retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He graduated from Hericks High School in New Hyde Park, N.Y. After retiring from the Air Force, James worked at Anderson Hospital as a medical lab technician for over 15 years. He was a member of Community Bible Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Flynn.

Surviving are his wife, Susan, nee Shisko, Flynn, whom he married on June 24, 1978; three sons, Sean Michael Flynn of Collinsville, Ill., Theodore John (Jessica) Flynn of Dunnsville, Va., and James Patrick (Ashley) Flynn II of Honolulu, Hawaii; two grandchildren, Aiden Patrick and Maximus Patrick Flynn; his mother, Gloria, nee Badalati, Flynn of Collinsville, Ill.; a brother, Kevin Flynn of Collinsville, Ill.; and a sister, Margaret (Dave) Henriques of Mineola, N.Y.

Visitation: Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Rogier officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
