James E. Hausmann, 88, of Collinsville, Ill., born Ec. 22, 1923, in Madison County, Ill., died at 9:28 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at his residence.



Mr. Hausmann retired from Swift and Co., after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill., Collinsville Lodge No. 712 AF & AM, Scottish Rite, Shriner and AARP. James was a US Navy veteran.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia, nee Ratz, Hausmann; parents, Edward John and Edna, nee Bohnensteihl, a brother, Frank Hausmann; and a sister, Viola Ohl.



Surviving are his sons, James R. (Terri) Hausmann of Foxborough, Mass., and Gary (Suzie) Hausmann of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle, and Brian Hausmann and Alice Tien; great-grandchildren, Landon, Mia and Laila.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.



Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tony Minear officiating. Interment in St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
