Edward Maurer, 76, of Collinsville, born Oct. 20, 1938, in Carmi, Ill., died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Ed was an avid bowler and for many years was a member of the local Senior Pro Tour.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Grafe; parents, Homer and Daisy, nee Rose, Maurer; and a sister, Jessie Mitchell.

Surviving are his children, Michelle (David) Huff of Collinsville, Ill., James (Glenda) Maurer Jr. of Cosby, Tenn., and Alicia (Timothy) Wrona of Crystal Lake, Ill.; a brother, Homer Maurer; a sister-in-law, Joanna Wurth of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Heather, Tiffany, Joshua, Scott, Matthew and Jimmy; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tristan, Amber, Cassie, Greyson and Carly; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Youth Bowling Organization.

Visitation: Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at the funeral home with Father John Beveridge officiating.
