James Christian McKenneth Garrison, age 87, of Maryville, died at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
He was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Utica, the son of the late Raymond and Rosa Meador Garrison.
His wife, Rosalea, preceded him in death on July 23, 2006.
He is survived by one grandson: David A. (Kristal) Lienemann of Granite City; two granddaughters: Morgan Lienemann of Granite City and Ava Lienemann of Granite City; a son-in-law: Morse (Mary) Lienemann of Edwardsville; a brother: Clyde Palmer Leroy (Helen) Garrison of Oak Lawn and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Kathleen Lienemann; one son: William Raymond Garrison; one sister: Rosalina Garrison and one brother: Merrel Dean Garrison.
Mr. Garrison was a truck driver for the East Texas Motor Freight Co. for over 40 years. He was a member of Freedom Worship Center.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, with the Rev. Larry Cook and Michael Garrison officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
