James "Mike" Sandy, 75, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 23, 2023.  James was born on February 29, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to parents, Charles Earl Sandy and Carol Joann (nee Price) Winkler.

James was an avid fisherman, and especially loved to fish with his grandchildren. He loved his family, his job, and his horse.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Earl Sandy.

Those left to cherish James' memory include his loving wife, Betty Lou Sandy (nee Rockwell); three daughters, Shannon (Richard) Sinclair, Amy (Andy) Kaiser, and Heather (Scott) Watson; nine grandchildren, Samantha (Clark Steinbrook) Sinclair, Nicholas Sinclair, Jessica (Billy Stone) Watson, Stephanie Sinclair, Jasmine (Derrick Woolsey) Watson, Roybn (Shawn Woolsey) Watson, Richard Sinclair IV, Xavier Kaiser, and Payton Kaiser; one great-grandson, Joseph Stone; mother, Carol Joann Sandy (nee Winkler); and two sisters, Joyce (Jerry) Keeton and Carol (Kenneth) Morales.

A memorial service will be held at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive in Glen Carbon, Illinois, on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 3:00pm.
