James J. Starr, Jr., age 73 of Caseyville, IL passed away peacefully at his home on April 5, 2020, surrounded by his family. James was born July 4, 1946 in E. St. Louis, IL. He retired from the U.S. Defense Mapping Agency after 32 years of service. James was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Proceeded in death by his parents, James J. Starr and Ruth M. (Hamilton) Starr, also by a sister Kathy McGill. brother in-law Jim McGill, brother in-law Al Eisenberg, and brother in-law Michael Grayson. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn (Tindall) Starr whom he married May 22, 1972.  His six children, Dennis Cheek, Douglas Cheek, Holly Lillis, Deborah Lillis, Diane West and James J. Starr 3 ^rd . Eighteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren  A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Burial will be in JeffersonBarracksCemetery, St. Louis, MO.
