Obituary

Janeth Kay Porter, 81, born on January 1, 1945, in East St. Louis, Illinois, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 18, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose life was marked by devotion to her family, faith, and the simple joys that filled her days.

Janeth married Roland Terry Porter on September 10, 1962, sharing many cherished years together until his passing. A woman who loved the Lord deeply, Janeth found comfort and strength in her faith throughout her life. Her love for gardening and flowers reflected the vibrant, nurturing spirit she carried within her. She treasured the time she could spend with her grandbabies, who were her pride and joy, and delighted in family traditions, such as annual trips to the wineries down south with her two daughters and granddaughters. Another cherished pastime was four-wheeling up to the cross with her sister, activities that brought laughter and cherished memories.

Janeth’s life was rich with love and community, marked by enduring bonds with her family and friends. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving children: daughters Tammy (Edward) Siegel and Karen Graham, and son Paul Timothy Porter. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren—Glen Ray, Jana Kay, Heather Lynn, Kade Tyler, Chase Phillip, and Presley—along with five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Janeth’s siblings, Dee (Bob) Davis and Larry (Christina) Jones, as well as many nieces and nephews, also survive her, carrying forward her memory with affection.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Zarada Jones; her husband, Roland Terry Porter; her son, Terry (Dino) Porter; son-in-law, Glen Graham; and grandsons Andrew Phillip and Hunter Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ms. Porter's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
