COLLINSVILLE- Janice L. Cook, 55, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 5:15 P.M. at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Janice was born May 5, 1962 in East St. Louis, IL to Albert and Bette Powell. She married Kenneth Cook on July 8, 1983 in Edwardsville, IL. He survives and resides in Collinsville, IL.

Also surviving is her mother, Bette Powell of Pinckneyville, IL; her daughters, Jeanine Cook and Jessica Cook (companion, Kenneth Mims); three grandchildren, Shelby, Logan, and Dakota; siblings, James (Kathy) Powell of Pinckneyville, IL, Ronnie Powell of Laquey, MO, and Belinda (Orlando) Gonzales of San Antonio, TX; and her beloved cat, Smokey.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Powell, brother, Johnny Powell, and one sister-in-law, Doris Powell.

Janice was employed at Collinsville Middle School as a lunch monitor and playground aide. Years ago, she worked at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

Janice loved her family dearly. Her grandchildren meant the world to her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

VISITATION: A visitation for Janice will be held on Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home in Collinsville, IL. Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.
