Jerry M. Sims, 64, of Collinsville, Ill., passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.,



Jerry retired after more than 40 years from Ironworker Local No. 392. He was a master gardener, who enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing at Carlyle Lake.



Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Margarite, nee Thibodeaux, Sims; and a brother, William Sims.



Surviving are his life companion of 30 years, Sandy Coleman; a brother, John Sims; a daughter, Carrie Sims; and two sons, Brandon and Aaron Sims; and grandchildren, Tate Casey, Alex Sims and Brighton Westermayer. Also surviving are his extended family, Curt Coleman, Lori Coleman, Becky Alexander and Jenny, Carly, Joey, Bailey, Parker and Aidan; and special friend, Cindy Sims.



Jerry holds a very special part in all of our hearts and will be sadly missed. Per his wishes, he was to be a tissue and organ donor and to be cremated.
