Jerry Wayne Tatum, age 77, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, 6:00 a.m. at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born January 6, 1945 and was the son of the late Buster and Mildred (nee: Corey) Tatum.
He retired as a machinist at Lincoln Engineering in St. Louis, and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Mizzou basketball and football, and enjoyed going to automobile junk yards, working on cars and doing yard work. His true passion was spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his four children: Jerrie Faye (Howard) Meyers of East Praire, Missouri David Tatum of Granite City, Beau Tatum of Granite City, Cody (Joscelyn) Tatum of Edwardsville. His grandchildren; Craig Boyer, Audrey Boyer, Amber Hadenfeldt, Zach Tatum, Gabriel Tatum, Tyson Tatum and Teagan Tatum. His great-grandchildren; Brayden, Kyla, Ali, Declan, Aliyah, Elijah, and Ariana. His Siblings; Donna Hatridge, LeRoy (Dianne) Sloan, Dale (Jan) Sloan, David (Jeannie) Tatum, Shirley (Frank) Bandy, Sharon Buxton, Marilyn Stark, Donald Stark, and John (Linda) Morgan. His former wife and friend; Kathy Ann Tatum of Granite City. Other extended family and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister; Joyce Sagraves.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home,
50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, Illinois where a service honoring Jerry will be friday at
4:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
For those desiring, memorials may be made to the family.
