Jill Helene Simpkins, 37, of Collinsville, Ill. passed away on July 3, 2016 in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was born on March 3, 1979 in Belleville, Illinois the daughter of Robert and Judith, nee Browning, Simpkins of Collinsville, Ill.

Jill was a giving, generous and courageous person who had a masters degree in counseling and also obtained a law degree. She enjoyed running, hiking, and being on the beach. She also enjoyed music and singing. She was a member of both the Illinois and Missouri Bar and had formerly clerked for Judge Thomas Welch.

Jill is survived by two brothers, Robert (Tammy) Simpkins of Nashville, Tn. and Benjamin Paul (Maria) Simpkins of Collinsville, Ill.; nephews, Robert Lee (Lilis) Simpkins III, Clay Simpkins and Benjamin Paul Simpkins Jr. and one niece Leslie (Jeff Coleman) Varney; great nieces Ella and Chloe Coleman and numerous other friends and family.

Gathering: Friends and family will gather at the Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill. on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Service: A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the funeral home with Deacon Jimmy officiating.
