Shiloh, IL- John D. Corder, 88, of Shiloh, IL, passed away on July 8, 2018 at 6:20 A.M. at his residence.

He was born in December 6, 1929 in Engelwood, CO to Carl and Mamie (Talbot) Corder. He married Virginia Morgan; she preceded him in death on October 11, 2005. He married Frances Hogue-McGee on July 10, 2007. She survives and resides in Shiloh, IL.

Also surviving are his children, Janet S. (John) Lerch of Granite City, IL and Carol Marie Knott of Granite City, IL; four grandchildren, Danny Thweatt, Jeff Cook, Dave Wolf, and Keri Harris; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Peck of Mesa, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Charlotte Diane Wolf; one great-grandson, Josh Thweatt; and siblings, Catherine Abbot, Carl Corder and Talbot Corder.

John worked at Monsanto for 10 years, before becoming the owner & operator of Corder Equipment in St. Louis. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1947-1967, during the Korean War and retired after 20 years of service.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL. Condolences may be sent to the family through this online guestbook.  Sunset Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
