John Wayne Kopchak, age 67, of Granite City, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27th at Creve Coeur Manor in Creve Coeur, MO.

He was born on January 20th, 1957, in Granite City and was the son of the late John Jr. and Shirley (nee: Vaughn) Kopchak.

A 1975 graduate of Granite City High School, he went on to spend many years drafting and detailing for Ambassador Steel (previously Rebar Specialists).

Wayne was known for his ability to make friends wherever he went and enjoyed drumming, golfing, and vacationing with his wife.

Surviving are his wife, Monica A. (nee: Meszaros) Kopchak, whom he married on March 31st, 1990; son, Adam (Alexandra) Kopchak; granddaughter, Marceline Kopchak; many brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; as well as other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11th, 2024, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. immediately following the Visitation.
