John Roger Pense, 80, of Collinsville, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2023. He was born to parents Dillard and Zola Pense on September 19, 1943, in East St Louis, Illinois .

After high school he attended business school and then went on to work many years at Scott Air Force Base, eventually retiring from there. John met and then married his beloved wife Linda on December 28, 1971. They had three children and were blessed with over 51 years of marriage together.

John enjoyed many hobbies including golf, friendly wagering, and sports of all kinds. He was a loving grandpa, who cherished his time with his grandkids, and enjoyed attending their events. He also had a special place in his heart for his dog Mugsy. John will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Linda, son Jason (Beth) Pense, daughter Jaime Van Leer, daughter in law Annie Pense, grandchildren; Trevor, Audrey, Collin, Nolan, Kyle, and Ellie. John was preceded in death by his son Roger and his brother Dorman.

As per his request there will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital, St. Jude Honors, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
