John Pete Ray, 69, of Collinsville, IL passed away on on February 27, 2025.

John was an avid bowler, having taken up the hobby in the early 80s. His passion for bowling made him a member of the national bowling hall of fame and earned him 10 league rings, including 3 prestigious "300" game rings. His other interests included watching L.A. Lakers games, horse racing and stock car races. He was also an avid walker, having been apart of the cross country team in high school.

John was preceded in death by his parents John William Ray and Norma Jean (nee Bluemner) Ray, sister Tracie Lynn Ray, step-son Zachary LeCuyer, brother-in-law Michael Allred, and brother-in-law Ken Bales. He is survived by his sisters Peggy Allred, Cathy Bales, Kim Ray, Mary Ray, Kelly (Gary) Yovandich and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him, especially those in his bowling league.

Services for John will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2025, from the chapel of Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

Family will receive friends from 10:00am until the hour of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
