COLLINSVILLE, IL- John H. Reeder, 88, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

John was born June 7, 1930 in Eldorado, IL to Ottie and Grace (Williams) Reeder. He married Agnes Boyke on June 10, 1953 in Harrisburg, IL. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage. She survives and resides in Collinsville.

Also surviving are his children, Vickie (Rick) Grissom of Collinsville, David (Michelle) Reeder of Collinsville, Mark (Denise) Reeder of Edwardsville, and Jane (Daniel) Jones of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren, Matthew Frawley, Amanda Frawley, Rob Reeder, Josh Reeder, Kiley Reeder, Matthew Hartline, Stephanie Meyer, Benjamin Jones and Jacob Jones; six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia, Haylee, Zayne, Isaac and Louie; and one sister, Helen Hodge of Metropolis, IL.

John was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann; and two sisters, Betty Sue Hendricks and Irene Welton.

John proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1950-1954, during the Korean War, where he was stationed on the USS Oriskany.

After John's retirement twenty years ago, he spent the majority of his time on the golf course.  He and Agnes spent many winters in Ft. Myers, Florida, enjoying their time together and with the Sundowners golf group.

He often enjoyed playing cards at the Collinsville Senior Center or the Knights of Columbus Hall with longtime friends.  John was a member of the Knights of Columbus #1712, where he served as a past Grand Knight. He was also a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville.

Above all else, John loved his family and friends dearly. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

VISITATION: A visitation for John will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 9:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL.

FUNERAL: A memorial Mass will be held immediately following the visitation, at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Interment will be at a later date at Wolf Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Eldorado, IL.
