John R. Roberson, 97 of Granite city, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

John was born March, 15, 1927 to Thomas and Chloe Roberson from Hayden, Missouri. John served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and worked for the United States government in logistics. John lived to see five generations in his family and will always be remembered as a loving, caring, humorous man who was always full of life.

John is survived by his daughter Elaine (James) Fay of St. Louis; grandchildren, Tracie (Tim) Hylla, Ryan Wilkinson; great – grandchildren, Brennan (Lily) Hylla, Mason Hylla, Sophia Hylla; great-great- grandchildren, Lorelei and Katerina Hylla; and close family friend, Rose Wilkinson. John was preceded in death by his loving son Gregory Roberson, special friend Pauline Roberson and brother Clay. In keeping with John's wishes, his remains will be laid to rest at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
