John J. Whitwell

John P. Whitwell, 86, of Caseyville, IL., born August 24, 1931, in Doniphan, MO., passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in Maryville, IL.

John proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.  He retired from the maintenance department from Washington University, St. Louis. MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover & Iva, nee Martin, Whitwell Sr.

Surviving are his wife Ethel Whitwell of St. Louis, MO.; sons, John (Wanda) Whitwell of Maryville, IL., Jeffrey Whitwell of Caseyville, IL.; daughter, Paula Adams of Troy, IL.; sisters, Bonnie Dodd of AZ., Dixie Whitwell of Springdale, AR.; his 6 grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association and can be received at the Herr Funeral Home.  Condolences to the family can be expressed through this online guestbook.

As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
