John William Martin, 48, of Granite City, Ill., born April 7, 1964, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 5:54 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet, Ill.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Churchill and Goldie, nee Bell, Martin.



Surviving are his four daughters, Jessica (Larry) Phelps of Granite City, Ill., Britney Martin of Collinsville, Ill., Samantha (Michael) Poe of Maryville, Ill., and Johnna (Joseph) Wells of Clarksville, Tenn.; sisters and brothers, Barbara Lewis of Granite City, Ill., Debby (Craig) Sherrill of Key Largo, Fla., Robert (Kim) Martin of Maryville, Ill., Ronald (Rosemary) Martin of Columbia, Mo., and Carol (Jeffrey) Dill of Mitchell, Ill.; four grandchildren, Trenton, Keirston, Madilynn and Makenna; and his wife, Kim, nee Baeres, Martin.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill.



Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Donahue officiating. Per family wishes, he was cremated.
