Joseph "Joey" Douglas Bourland, 28, of Caseyville, Illinois, passed away on May 28, 2021.

Joey was born to Bruce Bourland and Tamara (Throneberry) Martinez on June 21, 1992, in Hillsboro, Illinois.

He was a daredevil from a young age; he began his love of motorcycles and racing when he was five.  He played football and wrestled as a Collinsville Raider. As he got older, he loved going to The Offsets in Missouri where he would camp and fill his daredevil ways with cliff jumping.  He was a believer in God, had a big heart and he lived his live to the fullest. Joey was a loyal friend and will be missed by all.

Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Holly Adams, Larry Adams, and Raul Martinez; and aunt, Rebecca Martinez.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Tamara (Mama Bear) and Randy Martinez of Caseyville, Illinois; father Bruce Bourland of Troy, Illinois; sister, Heather Martinez of Caseyville, Illinois; grandparents, Barbara and Jerry Bourland of Troy, Illinois, and Patricia Martinez of Caseyville, Illinois; aunts:  Erica (Eric) Steyskal, Ginny (Kevin) Cooper, Rachel (Clay) Van Fossan, uncles: Brad (Tami) Bourland, Ray (Karen) Martinez, Robert (Brandi) Martinez, Ralph (Erica) Martinez, and Larry Adams Jr.; cousins: Bradley, Brett, Brock, Victoria, Mellissa, Clayton, Grace, Sylvia, Blain, Brody,  Noah and little Kevin; as well as his "Hollywood Heights Boys".

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois.  Cremation will follow services.
