Joseph E. Freiberg, 80, of Washington Park, Ill., born March 5, 1932, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Caseyville Nursing Center, Caseyville, Ill.
Joseph retired from Cierro Copper & Brass after 21 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the VFW in Mascoutah Ill. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Loretta, nee Hopfinger, Freiberg; and a brother-in-law, Don Yow.
Surviving are his two sisters, Loretta (Gary) Slagle of Caseyville, Ill., and Lorraine Yow of Belleville, Ill.; a nephew, David Yow of Collinsville, Ill.; a cousin, Norman Hopfinger; an aunt, Laura Hopfinger of Granite City, Ill.; a friend, Lena Sue Hopfinger and her daughter, Betty Sue; and numerous other cousins.
