Joseph Howard Gossett passed away on March 14, 2025, at age 88, surrounded by loved ones. He spent much of his life in service to his country, his community, and his fellow Christians.

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command and then dedicated himself to public safety as a Kentucky State Trooper. Following his service, he spent over 40 years in the aviation industry with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing and left a legacy of commitment and excellence.

Joe was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully in each calling he was given, and he always strived to be knowledgeable and accurate in his understanding of the gospel, and to be kind and compassionate to those to whom he ministered.

He is survived by his daughter, Michele Gossett; son, Tim Gossett, and daughter-in-law, Jeanna Gossett; twin granddaughters, Elisabeth and Madelyn Gossett; brother, Bob Gossett; and sister, Elaine Chester. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannene Gossett; father, Howard Gossett; mother, Eunice Gossett; brothers, Curtis and Charles Gossett; and sisters, Mae Dean Ashton and June Warren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 22, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2250 S State Rte 157, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
