COLLINSVILLE- Joseph Grodzicki, 79, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on June 6, 2018 at his home. He was born on September 20, 1938, in East St Louis, IL to John and Helen, nee Benok, Grodzicki. He married Patricia Thompson on April 22, 1961 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL. She survives and resides in Collinsville, IL.

He is also survived by his son, Dennis M. Grodzicki (Chloie Jett-Grodzicki) and daughter, Shawn C. Grodzicki-Heinlein (Randy Heinlein); grandchildren, Sgt. Robert Grodzicki  (Samantha Geil- Grodzicki), Anna Grodzicki-Long  (Christopher Long), Michael, Matthew, Tim Jett, and Cory Heinlein; and numerous great-grandchildren; his twin brother, John Grodzicki, brothers, Robert Grodzicki and Rich Grodzicki; mother-in-law, Vera Thompson, sister-in-laws, Mary, Barbara, and Sue Grodzicki; nieces and nephews, Laurie Grodzicki-Gough, Lana Grodzicki-Brown, Kent Grodzicki, and Rick Grodzicki.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Joe worked for the railroad, Falcon Products, Sam's Club, and Home Depot for many years. He also was the owned and operated P&J Maintenance.  He was a member of the 4-H Club and Farm Bureau of Troy. He was an avid sports fan who loved all sports especially St. Louis Cardinal Baseball and college basketball.

VISITATION: A visitation for Joseph will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Caseyville, IL.
