Joseph William Makler, 84, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. He was born on June 14, 1938 in Staunton, Illinois to parents, Joseph L. and Mary Netty (nee Hagermann) Makler. Joseph married Suann M. Kincaid on October 6, 1990.

Joseph loved working on tractors and lawn mowers. If it had an engine, he could fix it! Joseph owned and ran Illinois Radiator Shop in Glen Carbon for many years. He also had a shop in Edwardsville prior to his shop in Glen Carbon. He was an avid Cardinals Baseball fan and enjoyed fishing. Joseph bravely served his country as a U.S. Marine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Makler and brother, Sam Makler.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Suann M. Makler; son, Jody (Patty) Makler; daughter, Penny (Brad) Krome; bonus-children, Edward (Monique) Horton and Dawn (Scott) Dyer; grandchildren, Thomas and Luke Makler, Jacob Willett, Allison and Emily Paur, and Brenda Jo and Mason Horton; great-grandchildren, David, Ephie, Magnolia, and Reese; and sister-in-law, Colette Makler.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
