Obituary

Joseph G. "Jerry" Schwieder passed away peacefully on November 12, 2014. He was born on April 6, 1951 to Joseph and Angie Schwieder.

He is survived and loved by his wife, Pat Schwieder; his children, Emily Breese and Jami Bamat; his sons-in-law, Brad Breese and Chris Bamat; his grandchildren, Julia and Joe Breese; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Bev and Bill Wydra, Barb and Peter Zappe, Marcy and Leroy Young, and Carol and Rick Bardelmeier. He also has many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends who loved him dearly.

Jerry''s greatest joys in life were spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, riding his bike, reading historical fiction and classics, dancing, traveling, listening to music, and helping others. He was always the life of the party, full of laughter and love, stories and shenanigans.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org), or Siteman Cancer Center (www.gifts.wustl.edu) and will be accepted at the funeral home.

"Say not in grief he is no more, but live in thankfulness that he was."

"For I know that my redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh, I shall see God."

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Collinsville, Ill., with a luncheon to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Crystal Garden in Edwardsville, Ill.
