Joye L. (Ahner) Kansal, 55, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her residence.

Joye was born on October 25, 1961 in Belleville, IL, to Eldon and Elvira "Pinky", (Rowald) Ahner. She married Ajay Kansal on January 16, 1987 in St. Louis, MO. He survives and resides in Glen Carbon.

Also surviving are their three children, Asha Kansal of New Haven, CT, Abby Kansal (fianc Brandon Schack) of Edwardsville, IL, and Jai Kansal of Glen Carbon, IL; her parents, Eldon and Elvira "Pinky" Ahner of New Baden, IL; siblings, Stacia Ahner and Ted (Dawn) Ahner, of New Baden; numerous nieces and nephews; and her husband''s parents Ratish and Indra Kansal of New Delhi, India.

She graduated from Mascoutah High School in 1979, and earned her Bachelor''s degree in English from SIUE in 1984. Joye was a dearly beloved Wife and Mother, often saying that she was a Domestic Engineer. She was a devoted member of St. Peter''s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, IL, where she volunteered at the church and the grade school. Joye served as second mother to many international students at SIUE over the years through the International Hospitality Program.

Her strong and sincere faith in the Lord guided her daily in love. Joye lived by the verse, My grace is sufficient for you 2 Corinthians 12:9.

VISITATION: A visitation for Joye will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church, 7183 Renken Rd, Dorsey, IL 62021.

FUNERAL: A funeral will be held following the visitation, at 12:00 P.M. at the church. Pastor Dale Skeesick will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon is assisting the family with arrangements.
