Julie Anne Charlton, 50, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, passed away on November 14, 2021.

Julie was born March 18, 1971, to Frederick A. and Jeanne Anne (Huster) Poddig in Belleville, Illinois.

She was a life long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she was a member of the handbell choir.

Julie loved her family,  her children and grandchildren were her life. She was a doting, loving mom to Sean.  She was a fan of 80's and 90's rock music, and a huge race car fan.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Brian Charlton of Glen Carbon, Illinois; father, Frederick A. (Christine) Poddig of Glen Carbon, Illinois; mother, Jeanne Anne (Dean) Lawrence of Newburgh, Indiana; son, Sean Charlton of Glen Carbon, Illinois; step-daughters:  Kimmy (Jeff) Dondanville of Godfrey, Illinois, Angela (Travis) Adam of Godfrey, Illinois, Jessica (Nathan) Dickey of Granite City, Illinois, Holly (Joshua) Murray of Dalton, Georgia, and Amy Roulanaitis of Troy, Illinois; brother, Frederick C. (Shaun) Poddig of Edwardsville, Illinois; half-brother, Nicholas Weisenborn of Newburgh, Indiana; step-brothers: Jeff Kennedy of Maryville, Illinois, and Patrick (Jamie) Kennedy of Brooksville, Florida; step-sister, Abigail (Brian) McKinney of Brownsberg, Indiana; grandchildren: McKenna, Jonah, Harper, Grayson, Liam, Dash, Alex, Tyler, and Lily.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 304 South Street, Collinsville, Illinois. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dale Skeesik officiating.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Herr Funeral Home of Collinsville.
