EDWARDSVILLE- Karen S. Bean, 52, of Edwardsville, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.

Karen was born January 28, 1965 in St. Louis, MO to Bobby and Linda, nee Glass, Raymer. She married John Bean on June 18, 1983 at State Park Baptist Church in Collinsville, IL. He survives and resides in Edwardsville.

Also surviving are her children, Benjamin Bean and Bobby Bean, both of Edwardsville, Ill.; siblings, Lorrett (Vernon) Votava of Bethalto, Ill. and Bryan (Anna) Raymer of Worden, Ill.; and many special nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Karen worked for Collinsville School District Unit 10 for over 20 years. She was a teacher''s aid and loved her job dearly. The children brought her years of happiness and joy. Karen put her faith in God above all else. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

VISITATION: A visitation for Karen will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 11:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville.

SERVICE: A memorial service will be held following the visitation, at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pastor Ron Habermehl will officiate. Cremations rites have been accorded.
