Karen Kay Brooks, nee Faulkner, 62, of St. Jacob, Ill., born Jan. 31, 1949, in Carbondale, Ill., died at 4:22 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.



Mrs. Brooks was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, Ill.



Karen was preceded in death by her father, John Faulkner.



Surviving are her husband, Wayne Brooks of St. Jacob, Ill., whom she married on May 10, 1969; daughter, Heather Brooks of O'Fallon, Ill.; mother, Betty Faulkner of Collinsville, Ill.; and sister, Connie Anderson of Webster Groves, Mo.

Funeral: Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, Ill., with the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.
