Katherine Marie Jones, 75, passed away on December 13, 2023. She was born to Richard R. and Doris Lee (Doty) Jones on February 11, 1948 in Granite City, Illinois.

Those left to cherish Katherine's memory are her brother and sister in law John E. and Sondra K. Jones of Brighton, IL, brother Steven M. Jones of Granite City, IL, nephews John Jones Jr. and David Jones, her sister in law Lynn Buss and other members of Judy's family that she enjoyed many holidays with. She was preceded in death by her spouse Judy Anton, brother Richard J. Jones, and her parents.

Katherine found her life's work in insurance. She spent many years as a customer service agent at General American Life Insurance in Missouri, eventually retiring from there about 10 years ago. She excelled in her position and often remarked that she enjoyed her job, however she also looked forward to retirement. She appreciated the time and enjoyed the freedom that retirement allowed her. After losing her wife Judy in 2021, Katherine moved from St. Louis, MO to Bethalto, IL. After searching for a new place, she decided to live at the Villa Rose Senior Living in Bethalto, IL. She truly enjoyed the community and delighted in the activities that she became involved with there.

Katherine had a deep appreciation and love for the beach. Her favorite place to visit was Florida. She vacationed there many times throughout her life and went as often as she could. She was a gifted cook and over the years she prepared many tasty dishes for family and friends. She enjoyed numerous hobbies, including ceramics and crafts. Katherine enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Dr. Glen Carbon, Illinois 62034.
