Kathy Ann Long, 80, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on November 3, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O'Fallon, Illinois.

Kathy was born October 25, 1941, in Edwardsville, Illinois, to Walter John Kyro Sr. and Stella Catherine (Rapacz) Kyro.

Kathy was known as a very strong, loving, and giving person by everyone.  Her heart went out to not only people but to all animals as well.  Besides her love for people and animals, she was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.  Her beautiful face and loving heart will be greatly missed by her entire family.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Stella; sisters:  Dolores Romatoski and Rose Leach-Newman.

Survivors include her son, Ron (Lisa) Long of Edwardsville, Illinois; daughters:  Rhonda (Kevin) Meyer of Venedy, Illinois, Kim (Roy) Huckaby of Fishers, Indiana, and Carmen (John) Kruschik of Edwardsville, Illinois; brother, Walter "Butch" (Arlene) Kyro of Edwardsville, Illinois; sisters: twin sister, Karen Travis of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Donna (Ralph) Jackson of Glen Carbon, Illinois; grandchildren: Jarod Long, Ava Long, Ashley Peglow, Brittany Jordan, Angela Leggett and Bryan Kruschik; great-grandchildren: Henry Peglow, Lucy Peglow, Jack Peglow, Finley Jordan, Molly Leggett and Luke Leggett.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, Illinois.  Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Father Robert Jallas officiating.  Burial will follow at Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, Illinois.
