COLLINSVILLE- Kathy D. Riedel, 65, of Collinsville, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at her residence.
Kathy was born on April 12, 1951 in Asheville, NC to John Haney and Edith L., nee Burchfield, Heimrich.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Judith Ann Maxwell, William Maxwell, Carolyn Johnson, and Lori Gail Heimrich.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert Riedel of Caseyville; two children, Robert (Teresa) Grzywacz Jr. of Collinsville and Karla (Michael Krause) Meshey of Collinsville; four grandchildren, Justin, Madelyn, Blake and Alexandria; siblings, Annette Brown of Between, GA, Glenda (Chris) Gauntt of Between, GA, Ronnie (Jackie) Kimberlin of Mt. Vernon, IL, Susan (Sherman) Needham of Greene, IA, and Linda (Gary) Henson of Marine, IL; several special nieces and nephews; and her sweet dog, Molly.
Kathy was a 1969 graduate of Collinsville High School. She was as registered nurse, last working in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded per Kathy''s wishes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Additional condolences may also be sent to her family through this online guestbook.
