Katie L. Bauers, nee Talhelm, 86, of Caseyville, Ill., born Oct. 6, 1924, in Altamont, Kan., died at 1:17 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at Memorial Convalescent Center, Belleville, Ill.



Mrs. Bauers was a charter member of the Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill., and a member of New Life Club, St. Mathews Methodist Church in Belleville, Ill.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Bauers who died Dec. 11, 1973; parents, Arnold I. and Sylvia E., nee Raymond, Talhelm; and brother, Eldon Talhelm.



Surviving are her daughter, Julie Bauers of Caseyville, Ill.; son, Dennis (Kate) Bauers of Waterloo, Ill.; grandson, Bradley Rowald of Caseyville, Ill.; two sisters, Frances Paul and Gladys Schumert of O'Fallon, Ill.; and sister-in-law, Syl Lyles.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at the church with Rev. Jim Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
