GLEN CARBON- Kenneth H. Blume, 93, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Liberty Village in Maryville, IL.

Kenny was born August 5, 1925 in Edwardsville, IL to Herbert and Frieda (Gehrs) Blume. He married Vivian E. Snyder on January 15, 1949. She preceded him in death on January 31, 1996.

On June 27, 1998, he married Helen Cravens at Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville, IL. She survives and resides in Glen Carbon, IL.

Also surviving are his children, Michael K. Blume (wife, Kathleen) of Glen Carbon, IL and Gregory A. Blume (wife, Susie) of Bastrop, TX; five grandchildren, Megan Kane (husband, Nathan), Matthew Blume (wife, Melissa), Marissa Brown (husband, Jacob), Allen Blume (wife, Michelle) and Steven Blume (wife, Amy); eight great-grandchildren, Natalie Kane, Kaden, Leah and Maria Blume, Madelyn Brown, Allyssa Blume and Mallory and Spencer Blume;  and one sister, Eunice Mae Foutch of Moro, IL.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Blume, parents Herbert and Frieda Blume, and one brother, Milton H. Blume.

Kenny proudly served and retired from the United States Navy after 43 years of dedicated service. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict as an Electrician Mate 1 ^st class. Kenneth was a member of IBEW Local 309 and the American Legion Post 199 in Edwardsville, IL. He also worked as an electrician for A.O. Smith Corporation for 32 years.

Kenny enjoyed playing golf and working at his gardening and landscaping. He was a skilled woodworker who shared his talents with his friends and family. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Edwardsville, IL. He was also a talented organist. Kenny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

VISITATION: A visitation for Kenny will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, IL 62034.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Edwardsville, IL. Reverend Diane Grohmann will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Glen Carbon, IL.
